Our expectations
Standing
Bay 16 is the only dedicated active support bay in our stadium. This means if you choose to watch the game here, you cannot be sitting down during the match. If you aren't interested in standing up and chanting, we kindly ask for you to choose somewhere else to sit as Bay 16 is not the environment to do so.
Chanting
As mentioned earlier, Bay 16 is the only dedicated active support bay in our stadium. This means that when you first step into the bay, you are expected to sing your lungs out and give it your all, regardless of the fixture or weather.
Being active
Active support is much more than singing for the whole game, it is putting in the extra effort to make the bay look more alive. This is done by doing simple actions such as clapping above your head, jumping up and down, swinging a scarf or tee-shirt around, or waving your arms around like crazy. Just listen to the capo and create a party atmosphere.
flags and banners
We encourage all Mariners fans to be creative and make as many banners and flags as possible. It is easier and cheaper then you'd imagine. However, there are some rules that we'd like to be followed:
- If you are using our name or logo on a flag or banner, please ask one of our members for permission first.
- If you have made a large flag, leave it in one of the front rows of the bay so it doesn't obstruct peoples view. Smaller flags however are welcome all throughout the bay. We recommend getting permission from the club first before bringing it in to avoid security issues.
- If you've made a two-stick banner, have no shame in showing it off as much as you like, (as long as it isn't for too long which obstructs peoples view.)
how to join US
The Yellow Army is a welcoming environment for people of all ages and genders who support the Mariners. Joining us is easy, just show up to Bay 16 no matter where your ticket is as we're in the general admission section, and sing your heart out for the full 90 minutes.
If you want to get seriously involved with the group and make mates for life, come to as many home games as possible, sing all of the chants and introduce yourself, we are constantly looking to expand our core group of members. The club also offers reasonably priced memberships if you want to attend every home game with us. This is accessible via the club's website.
